2025

Location

The Window Between Worlds reflects the Catholic understanding that the spiritual and earthly realms sometimes meet in subtle, symbolic ways. Using only his own original photography, Richard creates a vision that suggests the longing and purification often associated with purgatory — not as horror, but as a place of awakening, reflection, and hope.
A luminous woman, photographed by the artist in his studio through a real glass door, appears caught within a shattered windowpane. She stands not as a ghost, but as a soul in transition — illuminated from within, seeking peace and final union with God. The Victorian house, photographed by Richard at Universal Studios, becomes a metaphor for unfinished stories, past burdens, and the spiritual “rooms” we sometimes remain in until grace sets us free.
Hand-painted shadows, layered textures, and atmospheric digital work (no AI) shape the scene with quiet, haunting beauty.
This piece invites the viewer to contemplate the unseen journeys of the soul, the mercy of purification, and the hope that even in darkness, God’s light breaks through
